The further north you travel in Napa Valley the narrower it gets, and many vineyards start to climb up into the clouds. As this happens, we transition from the valley floor vineyards to the distinctive mountain vineyards. The Mountain Reserve designation on this wine recognizes one of our favorite spots in the valley, not just for the grapes and wine but also for delicious fresh peaches we collect in the summer. The rocky slopes of the vineyard where this wine is born take every advantage of the unique conditions. Extended aging for 3 years in a mix of old and new French oak barrels has allowed this wine to develop into a rich and sensual wine. Pour her from the bottle and you will find a wine with amazing mouthfeel that coats your mouth like a velvet glove. The strong aromatics and rich, deep flavors continue all the way through the palate for a finish that lasts for days.
