The Amadio Vineyard is located in the northern part of the Adelaide Hills wine region between Kersbrook and Williamstown. The warmer and drier micro-climate within this famous high altitude, cool climate region causes the low-vigor fruit to ripen earlier with gentle tannins and fresh fruit flavors. The distinctive soils contribute to an infusion of intense fruit flavors, complexity and length that deliver through to the palate. This region and sub-climate nurtures each individual vine, and projects the enticing characteristics which results in pure soil, environment and excellence.
This medium/full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon opens into ripe mulberry, hints of mint and tobacco leaf with overtones of cedar and spice. The mouth feel is comforting and cosy yet is built around firm, fine-grained tannins. A warm, mellow wine of very fine style that has been aged in French barrels, new and old, for 26 months.
